So I have never been in a book club, but always wanted to! I get a lot of reading done in my half hour commute to and from work on the 'O SOOO CHARMING!' New York City Subway! I just finished a great book called 'Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother'. My roomate, who is Taiwanese, recommended it. She told me it reminded her a lot of her childhood. Contrary to the huge uproar about what a terrible book this was, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Don't get me wrong, I don't want her as my mother, but I thought it was a very interesting insight into a world of Chinese parenting.
