Da!

I am so excited because today I am off to Russia!  My job is amazing because I get to travel so much, and do what I love to do all over the world!  We are headed to Moscow to do 3 shows in 5 days!  So there is not going to be much time to play, but I will be sure to document every moment for you!  I don't know if I will have internet access, so I just wanted to say bye!  I hope you have a splendid week, and I can't wait to show you all about mine!

P.S.:  'Da' means 'Yes' in Russian.  And that is the only word I know!  Eeek.......should be an adventure!

The Queen of the Willis

On Friday last week I found out some REALLY REALLY exciting news!  I could hardly keep my mouth closed until today, but I had to wait until it was official.  Guess what...ITS OFFICIAL!  I am learning my very first Principal part in a full length ballet!  I am learning Myrta (The Queen of the Willis) in the ballet 'Giselle'.  I know this doesn't mean anything to a lot of you, so I posted a little video to give you some insight on why I am SOOOO excited!

So generally I am just one of the many willis in the back of the corps (like you saw in the second video). But not now!  Now I am the Queen of the Willis!  EEK!

Comfy Fur Vest

Sorry about missing you all yesterday.  Monday is generally the most busy day of the week for me.  But to make it up to you, I am giving you ANOTHER outfit post!  Lucky you!  This is one of my favorites because it is so comfy and super easy to recreate.  All you need are some brown boots, skinny jeans, a white tee or blouse, a gray cardigan, a comfy fur vest, and a brown belt!  Layer it all together and you are set!

Boots: Tanni,  Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters,  Blouse: Zara,  Cardigan: H&M,  Vest: Stolen from Sister's closet,  Belt: J.Crew

Braided updo

As a dancer,  I have to do my hair up and out of my face almost everyday of the week.  Honestly though, a bun can get quite boring!  That is why I love braids!  I want to show you a really simple one I do all the time to add a little spice to my hair.  This is a one sided braid with the ends tucked and pinned up.  All you do is part your hair on either side.  You take the larger half and start french braiding down towards your ear.  (I prefer to keep the braid as close to my ear as possible.)  As you gather the hair, start to sweep the smaller half from the other side of your face into the braid.  This will create the side swept look.  Finish braid all the way to the end.  When you have knotted off the braid, make a little bun or tuck the ends back up.  Be sure to hide the hair elastic.  And Voila!  There you have yourself a chic, quick, and simply way to keep your hair out of your face!

I recently chopped my hair, so I have had to alter my braiding.  If you have longer hair you should consider the swept heidi look.  (My Absolute FAVORITE!!!)  You simply do this same side swept french braid.  But instead of tucking the ends into a bun, you continue to wrap the rest of the braid around your head making a circular headband of sorts.  Without knotting off the end, you pin the hair back into the beginning of the french braid.  (Sounds confusing?  Pictures to come.)

I know a lot of people don't think they can pull this particular look off,  but trust me, most people can.  The key is to keep the braid loose, and a bit messy.  If it gets to clean, it can look childish.  Try it out, and have fun with it!  Good luck!

WII Kareoke Night

After dinner with Sister the other night we decided we needed a Wii Karyoke night!  So on Saturday Sister brought over her hubby and pup Buddy to play.  Boyfriend came along too, even though he refuses to sing kareoke.  (Which still baffles me to this day?  Who doesn't like Kareoke?)  So if you don't sing for me...you must feed me!  We put him to work making a pepperoni pizza while we sang out hearts out!  It was a great night full of fun songs, a little dancing, and great food!

This is Buddy.  Sister's pup!

Singing away!

Even Sister's hubby got a piece of the action!

Mmmmmm!

The non-singing chef!

Going to town!  Maybe this face is why boyfriend doesn't like Kareoke?

Out-takes

I have been wanting to do outfit posts for you all, but feel a little self conscious taking pictures of myself.  So when my sweet and amazing mom came to visit me last week for a night, she offered to take a few photos.  As she was trying to get me to loosen up we got a few out-takes!  Hehe!

All my goofiness resulted in two decent pictures!  So there you have it, my first outfit post!

What I am Wearing:  Zara (Italy) dress, Boyfriends socks, Eden (Paris) shoes, Michael Kors watch.

Emerson - Mommy's Nose is Scary!

Someone just sent me this video on Facebook and I thought it was soooo funny! I died laughing! I watched it multiple times, and laughed everytime! Enjoy!

Taste of Florence

Also while in Italy, Boyfriend and I took a trip to this beautiful little villa that overlooked the city.  We were able to really see the city at it's finest!

This is Holga!  She takes very amazing pitures.  More of her to come at a later date!

This is the panoramic setting on my camera.  Isn't it amazing!  One of my favorite things to play with!

I hope you enjoyed a little taste of Florence!

THE STAIRS

So while in Florence, boyfriend and I decided to climb this...

This is a tower in a huge church called Il Duomo-Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.  It has 463 stairs and a great view of the city!

This was my expression previous to climbing THE STAIRS!

THE STAIRS!

Only at the first stop-off!  Already tired.  Too late to turn around?

Not there yet...

Not yet...

A little progress made.  But still not yet...

I would never want to get stuck in there!

Not yet...

See that little black blob on the floor below...

Thats me!

Near the top, THE STAIRS started to get a lot more narrow and scary.  I got really clausterphobic and had to start running ahead to get out!  Everyone else got quite the kick out of seeing me freak out!  And guess what...still not there yet!

We made it!

Boyfriend and I at the top!

Just a little perspective on how high up we were.

Boyfriend thought it would be funny to take a picture "acting" like we were claustrophobic and trapped.   After looking at this picture boyfriend laughed really hard and told me my "acting" skills were really good.  If only he knew how little "acting" I was really doing!

Just another little tid-bit from Italy!

Vive la langue!

So I was looking at a friends blog the other day and spotted these two adorable videos! They kind of go along with the European adventures theme!

I thought they were very cute and could not wait to share them and my friends adorable blog with you!

Italy Excursion

Today will begin the first day of posts with pictures from my recent trip to Italy.  These are just a few fun ones that I liked.  More to come everyday!
